From the birth of our piglets up until slaughter, ARBU Durocs consume eight different types of fodder, just for this product line, in order to optimise their growth and their physical composition and to meet their nutritional requirements.
During the growth phase, these animals require a diet which is lower in calories but higher in protein, and which is rich in fibre, all of which contributes to a balanced, gradual development.
During the fattening phase, we maintain a high-fibre diet while increasing the calorie content, so as to achieve the degree of fat pooling required for our ARBU Duroc.
Dietary decisions are made in the light of continual, live, modelling studies into growth and the structure of the carcass.
